RC Boat – Lady Pisamai and U47 – Explorer Yacht and U-Boat
The long time lost German U-Boat U47 from WWII was finally found! Captain Bill on his explorer yacht “Lady Pisamai” discovered it recently by searching the sea floor with side scan sonar. Have a look into this breathtaking story of a painful search over a long time and efforts made by Swiss boat modellers and its camera team

Nice video, but i would have liked to see more of the wreck found…
@DocterJones
We didn’t have enought good video material so far but you might get an impression when looking at the foto gallery on our webpage (askweb.ch). Within the gallery follow the link to U-Boot/U-Boats and then U-47.
The U-47 model is worked out as waterproof diorama. To get out of the pool again a line with a buoy on the surface is installed. The buoy carries – of course – the diver down flag.
@RetoFor
Yea the pix of your wreck are great! you did a very sweet job on that wreck model! Wish I could read German though so I could read up on that site. Lots of great models.
I was checking out the pix of your lady posted there and noticed the sidescan sonar of the Brittanic…is that another wreck model you made? also is that the scan from your boat? Great job again!
@DocterJones
Thanks for your kind words! The side scan sonar picture from the Britannic is actually a real one. So what you see there is the real pic of the the real wreck! I posted it as an illustration of the capabilities of such a sonar system and the sister vessel to the Titanic was just ideal.
Unfortunately my sonar is not realy working but a model copy of an existing system.
PS: sorry, that our club page is in German only. But pictures are often better than a thousand words.
@RetoFor
Thats cool, even with a reproduced scanner, It would be rather difficult to do it down to scale. I deffinatly agree there with a picture worth a thousand words, I like to take lots of pictures myself, will be doing more some day when I have my 1/72 scale Flower corvette ready to make waves.
where could u get a boat like that?
@slcpd14
. The model from the U47 is a Revell modell which I altered to a wreck rather than building it as a nice and perfect display model.
It is my own design (based on a Krick Lisa M.). So it is a self built vessel and fairly unique
that is thai flag=[]=
@Nuttazaa That is correct, well spotted! “Lady Pisamai” has it’s home base in Surat Thani.
soo why diten we see the uboat ‘-’
